 The Loggers Safety Initiative (LSI) is a partnership between the West Virginia Division of Workers' Compensation, West Virginia Division of Forestry, WVU-Appalachian Hardwood Center, West Virginia Forestry Association and logging companies throughout West Virginia. Participants in the LSI program must satisfactorily complete specific safety training courses and on-site job inspections. By successfully completing the requirements of the program, companies receive a reduction in Workers' Compensation premium payments. The goal of the LSI program is to reduce the frequency and severity of logging-related accidents.
